 Code Switch: a NPR podcast that is extremely well done and always focuses on a variety of race relations
 
 1619: The New York Times Magazine’s 1619 Project is a sprawling initiative to re-examine the history of slavery in the United States.

BOOKS
 The War Before the War: Fugitive Slaves and the Struggle for America’s Soul from the Revolution to the Civil War by Andrew Delblanco: This book recounts the story of slavery through politics, law, and literature through the eyes of enslaved black people who risked their lives to flee from bondage, thereby forcing the nation to confront the truth about itself.

I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai: An excellent autobiography of a girl who was shot by the Taliban because she advocated for the education of girls in Pakistan.

TV MINI SERIES
 When They See Us, on Netflix: A four part special about the Central Park Five, now known as the Exonerated Five, who were falsely convicted of the gang rape of a woman in Central Park.

When They See Us Now, Oprah Winfrey Presents (on HBO): Oprah interviews the Exonerated Five, and the actors who played them in the mini-series.
