Holocaust Remembrance 2023

Updated: Mar 31, 2023

The Town of Concord’s Annual Holocaust Remembrance, co-sponsored by the Concord-Carlisle Human Rights Council, will take place on Sunday, April 23rd at 7:00 PM at the Concord Town House. The event will also be accessible via a Zoom Webinar for those not able to attend in-person.

This year, we are honored to welcome Sara Cohen, a member of Concord’s Kerem Shalom. Sara was born in Athens, Greece in 1948 to parents who had survived the Holocaust. The Cohens emigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Boston. Sara was an art teacher and grant writer in the Boston Public Schools for 32 years and was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. In her retirement, she began a second career creating documentaries, specializing in interviewing Holocaust survivors in an effort to memorialize their stories. Her documentaries have been featured in local cable TV programs and have been presented in numerous venues in Boston, New York, Athens and Israel. Sara will share her family’s story and reflect on growing up in the Boston area as a child of Holocaust survivors and as an immigrant from Greece.

The event will also be recorded and available for viewing on our website, cchumanrights.org.

All Are Welcome. If you are a person with a disability and need a reasonable accommodation in order to attend, please contact the Human Rights Council at info@cchumanrights.orgby April 16 and if possible we will accommodate you.
